Designer Side extension

The Challenge

The client wanted to gain more space by undertaking a side extension. This was to incorporate a new kitchen and dining area plus a relaxed side area for seating. They wanted to make it as light an area as possible as the extension was north facing so glass was incredibly important for the look they wanted to achieve.

The Solution

Firstly, the fish pond had to be cut in half and we had to move 30 carp by hand into the smaller area. Once this was achieved, the foundations could be dug.

The side extension incorporated an additional 50m2 of floor space with exposed brickwork on the interior wall. The space allowed for a utility area and downstairs shower room. Once the knock through occurred, then the roof line could be finalised and the glass installed.

This was a great project to be involved with and we incorporated lots of different trades to realise the final goal.

More info

The client wanted to include high tech sound, air conditioning, lighting and heating controls. We were asked to undertake the kitchen design and installation as well as building a downstairs cloakroom, a stunning feature gas fire, new lawn and decking in the garden and sliding pocket doors wrapped in the clients own design to shut off the area to the utility space and a new bin store..

The client had very strong ideas visually which made this an exciting project to work together on.

They also asked us to retile the 20m long hallway which included over 7,000 individual tiles.

Subsequently the client asked us to undertake a refurb of the family bathroom and create an ensuite from an office space for the top floor bedroom.

Can we help your project?
